Crowbar (American band)

Crowbar is an American sludge metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1990. Known for its slow, heavy, and crushing sound, Crowbar is considered one of the pioneers of the sludge metal subgenre.

The band was founded by Kirk Windstein, who has remained the only constant member throughout its history. Windstein's distinctive, guttural vocals and downtuned guitar riffs are hallmarks of Crowbar's music. Other notable members throughout the band's history have included Todd Strange, Sammy Duet, and Tommy Buckley.
