Tomisato is a city located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Situated in the northern part of the prefecture, it is part of the Greater Tokyo Area. The city is primarily known as a residential and agricultural area, characterized by its proximity to Narita International Airport.
History:
The area that now comprises Tomisato was historically part of the Shimōsa Province. During the Edo period, it was under the control of various hatamoto and the Sakura Domain. Following the Meiji Restoration, the area was reorganized into villages within Inba District. Tomisato was officially established as a town in 1954 through the merger of several villages. It achieved city status on April 1, 2002.

Tomisato is located on a plateau and features a relatively flat landscape. It is characterized by a mix of residential areas, farmland, and forest. The city's location near Narita Airport has influenced its development.
