Sultan Ahmed (director)

Sultan Ahmed (1938 – 22 May 2002) was an Indian film director and producer, predominantly working in Hindi cinema. He was known for directing large-scale, action-oriented films, often set in historical or social contexts. His work frequently featured themes of justice, heroism, and family values.

Ahmed began his career as an assistant director before transitioning to directing his own films. Some of his notable directorial works include Heera (1973), Ganga Ki Saugandh (1978), Dharam Kanta (1982), and Jai Vikranta (1995). He also produced several films under his production banner, Sultan Productions. His films were often characterized by their strong performances, memorable music, and elaborate sets. He contributed to the popularization of the dacoit genre in Indian cinema.
