Line 4 (Shenzhen Metro)
Line 4 of the Shenzhen Metro is a rapid transit line in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Also known as the Longhua Line (龙华线), it connects Futian Checkpoint in Futian District to Niuhu Station in Longhua District. The line provides a crucial north-south connection, serving major residential and commercial areas within Shenzhen.
Initially built and operated by Hong Kong's MTR Corporation (under the brand name MTR Shenzhen), operational control was transferred to Shenzhen Metro Group in 2020. This transfer marked a significant shift in the overall management of the Shenzhen Metro network.
Line 4 is characterized by its relatively high ridership, particularly during peak hours. It plays a vital role in connecting Shenzhen's central business district with the northern Longhua New Area. The line has undergone expansions since its initial opening, extending further north into Longhua. Future expansion plans are periodically reviewed and adjusted based on the city's growing transportation needs. The line uses standard gauge track and primarily underground alignment, with some elevated sections. The operating hours typically run from early morning to late evening, with service frequency varying depending on the time of day.
