Little Fugitive (1966 film)
Little Fugitive is a 1966 American short film written, directed, and produced by Ashley Lazarus. It is a remake of the 1953 film of the same name, directed by Ray Ashley, Morris Engel, and Ruth Orkin. Both films tell the story of a young boy who runs away to Coney Island after mistakenly believing he has killed his younger brother. The 1966 version, however, is shorter and was intended for educational use. It retains the core plot and naturalistic style of the original, but often lacks the same critical acclaim. Because it is significantly less known than its predecessor, its impact on independent filmmaking is negligible compared to the 1953 Little Fugitive.
