Tim Collins (financier)

Tim Collins is an American private equity investor and businessman. He is perhaps best known as the founder and former CEO of Ripplewood Holdings LLC, a private equity firm based in New York City.

Collins founded Ripplewood in 1995. Under his leadership, the firm made significant investments in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, technology, and financial services. Ripplewood's investments have included Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Company, RHJ International (now BHF Kleinwort Benson Group), and Reader's Digest.

Collins has also been involved in various philanthropic and civic activities. He has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Asia Society and the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

He holds degrees from Yale University and the Yale School of Management.
