The Sounds (TV series)

The Sounds is an eight-part mystery drama television series co-produced by New Zealand and Canada. It premiered on Acorn TV in September 2020.

The series follows Maggie and Tom, a seemingly happy couple who move from their native England to the remote Marlborough Sounds region of New Zealand to start a new life centered around a sustainable salmon farm. Their dream quickly unravels when Tom disappears shortly after their arrival. Maggie begins an investigation into his disappearance, uncovering dark secrets and hidden truths about the community and her husband. The series explores themes of love, loss, secrets, and the impact of isolation.

The cast includes Rachelle Lefevre as Maggie and Matt Whelan as Tom. Other notable cast members include Peter Elliott, Anna-Maree Thomas, Tandi Wright, and Nic Sampson.
