"The Cost of Living" is the fifth episode of the third season of the American television drama series Lost. It originally aired on October 25, 2006, on ABC. The episode focuses primarily on the character of Mr. Eko, delving into his backstory and ultimately depicting his death.

The episode provides flashbacks into Mr. Eko's life in Nigeria, showing his rise to power within his village by becoming involved in a local gang. These flashbacks reveal the circumstances that led him to impersonate his younger brother, Yemi, a priest, and how he ended up on Oceanic Flight 815.
