VideoWave

VideoWave was a non-linear video editing software application originally developed by MGI Software Corp. (later Roxio) and later acquired by Sonic Solutions. It allowed users to capture, edit, and produce digital videos on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system.

VideoWave provided a graphical user interface (GUI) with a timeline-based editing environment. Users could import video clips, audio files, and still images to arrange them in a sequence. The software featured a range of editing tools, including trimming, splitting, merging, and transitions. It also included effects and filters to enhance the video's visual appearance. Audio tracks could be added and adjusted to control volume and apply sound effects.

A key aspect of VideoWave was its ability to produce videos in various formats for different output destinations. Supported output options included video files suitable for playback on computers, encoding for DVD authoring, and creation of files optimized for online sharing.

While once a popular choice for amateur and semi-professional video editing, VideoWave is now considered largely obsolete and is no longer actively developed or supported. Its functionality has largely been superseded by more modern video editing software packages.
