Alan Green (footballer, born 1954)
Alan Green (born 30 May 1954) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender.
Green began his career at Gillingham, making his debut in the Football League in 1972. He spent the majority of his professional career with the club, playing over 300 league games for the Gills. Known for his strong tackling and no-nonsense style of play, he was a consistent presence in the Gillingham defence during his time there.
After leaving Gillingham in 1982, Green had spells with several non-league clubs, including Maidstone United and Canterbury City. He later moved into coaching, working with youth teams and local clubs. His dedication and long service to Gillingham earned him recognition as a significant figure in the club's history.
