Sergey Kuznetsov (footballer, born 1960)

Sergey Viktorovich Kuznetsov (Russian: Сергей Викторович Кузнецов; born January 1, 1960, Leningrad, Soviet Union) is a former Soviet and Russian professional footballer. He primarily played as a defender.

Career

Kuznetsov began his football career in the youth system of Zenit Leningrad. He played for Zenit's first team from 1977 to 1986, appearing in over 200 league matches. He was a key member of the Zenit squad that won the Soviet Top League championship in 1984.

After leaving Zenit, Kuznetsov played for several other clubs, including Dynamo Moscow, Rotor Volgograd, and Lokomotiv St. Petersburg. He finished his professional career in the late 1990s.
