Zmijani

Zmijani is a village located in the municipality of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the Republika Srpska entity. Zmijani is primarily known for its unique type of embroidery called Zmijanje embroidery, which is inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The village and surrounding area are characterized by a rural landscape. The population is predominantly Serbian. Local economy is largely based on agriculture.
