Interstate 76 (Ohio–New Jersey)

Interstate 76 (I-76) is a major east–west Interstate Highway in the United States that runs for 435 miles (700 km) from near Akron, Ohio, to Camden, New Jersey, near Philadelphia. I-76 consists of two distinct sections connected by the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The western section runs from its western terminus at an interchange with Interstate 71 near Akron, Ohio, across Ohio and into Pennsylvania, where it joins the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Pittsburgh. This section is primarily a free road, though some portions may have tolls depending on the specific location and recent roadwork.

The eastern section begins in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, at the eastern end of the Pennsylvania Turnpike's mainline. From there, it travels east through Philadelphia, crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge into New Jersey, where it terminates in Camden. This section is also known as the Schuylkill Expressway in Philadelphia.

I-76 provides a key transportation corridor, connecting major metropolitan areas and facilitating both commercial and personal travel across the region. Its route passes through diverse landscapes, from the industrial heartland of Ohio to the urban centers of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Due to its critical role in regional transportation, I-76 experiences significant traffic volume, particularly near large cities.
