Victory Bell (UCLA–USC)

The Victory Bell is a brass bell and a highly prized rivalry trophy in American college football, awarded to the winner of the annual game between the UCLA Bruins and the USC Trojans. The bell itself weighs 292 pounds and is mounted on a wheeled cart, painted in the winning school's colors after each contest.

The tradition began in 1939, when members of the UCLA student body stole the bell, which had previously been used to ring in rallies and sporting events by USC. After a series of pranks and near-violent encounters, the two schools agreed to make the bell a trophy for their football rivalry.

The rivalry surrounding the Victory Bell is intense, with students from both universities engaging in elaborate pranks and attempts to "steal" the bell in the years leading up to the game. Security around the bell is typically very tight.

The annual football game for the Victory Bell is a significant event for both universities, attracting national attention and large crowds. The winning team gets to paint the bell in their school colors and display it proudly for the following year. The overall record of the game, and therefore possession of the bell, has historically favored USC.
