Kot Qazi

Kot Qazi is a historical neighbourhood and union council located within the jurisdiction of Lahore, Pakistan. It falls within the administrative town of Aziz Bhatti Town. Historically, the area was a small fortified settlement (kot meaning fort or fortified place), likely serving as a defensive outpost or agricultural center in the surrounding region. The name "Qazi" suggests a link to a religious judge or notable person holding the title of Qazi, who may have resided in or administered the area. Today, Kot Qazi is a densely populated residential and commercial area within Lahore, characterized by narrow streets and traditional architecture in some parts. While retaining its historical name, the original fort structure is no longer visible. The neighbourhood reflects a blend of old and new Lahore, exhibiting both traditional cultural practices and modern urban development.
