Paul Williams (footballer, born 1970)

Paul Williams (born 4 August 1970) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Williams began his career as a trainee with Derby County, making his professional debut in 1988. He went on to make over 100 league appearances for the Rams before moving to Coventry City in 1995. His time at Coventry was less successful, and he was loaned out to Birmingham City before being sold to Stoke City in 1997.

He spent two seasons at Stoke before joining Burnley in 1999. Williams then had spells with Notts County and York City before retiring from professional football.

Following his playing career, Williams moved into coaching.
