South Passage (Queensland)

South Passage is a channel located between Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island in Queensland, Australia. It forms the southern entrance to Moreton Bay. Due to strong tidal currents and shifting sandbanks, South Passage is known for being a relatively dangerous shipping channel, requiring skilled navigation and often pilotage services. It is generally less frequently used by large vessels compared to the North Entrance to Moreton Bay. The passage is also a popular area for recreational fishing and boating, though caution is advised due to the challenging conditions.
