Tibor Békési

Tibor Békési (born January 21, 1958) is a Hungarian economist and academic. He is known for his contributions to the fields of econometrics and applied microeconomics, particularly in the areas of firm dynamics, productivity analysis, and international trade.

Békési received his degrees from the Budapest University of Economics (now Corvinus University of Budapest), including a Ph.D. His academic career has primarily been based in Hungary, where he has held professorships and research positions at various institutions, including the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has also been a visiting scholar at universities abroad.

Békési's research has focused on understanding the behavior and performance of firms, exploring topics such as the impact of trade liberalization on firm-level productivity, the role of innovation in firm growth, and the effects of foreign direct investment on the Hungarian economy.
