Three Stories (1997 film)

Three Stories (Macedonian: Три приказни, Tri prikazni) is a 1997 Macedonian drama film directed by Goce Mihajlovski. The film is a triptych, composed of three interconnected stories exploring themes of love, loss, and desperation in post-communist Macedonia. Each story features different characters and scenarios, but they are subtly linked through recurring motifs and locations, creating a cohesive narrative. The film offers a glimpse into the social and economic realities of the country during the late 1990s, highlighting issues such as poverty, corruption, and the struggles of individuals to find meaning and connection in a rapidly changing society. It was selected as the Macedonian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 70th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
