Ankama is a French entertainment company headquartered in Roubaix, France. It is primarily known for its massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), animated series, and board games. Founded in 2001 by Camille Chafer, Anthony Roux, and Emmanuel Darras, Ankama started as a web design agency before transitioning into the entertainment industry.

The company's most successful and widely recognized creation is Dofus, a tactical turn-based MMORPG released in 2004. Following the success of Dofus, Ankama developed Wakfu, another MMORPG set in the same universe but taking place centuries later.
