C2C (studio)
C2C is a French electronic music group and visual design collective formed in Nantes in 1998. Originally composed of four DJs – Atom, Pfel, Greem, and 20Syl – each member is a renowned DJ in their own right, also belonging to other established groups. Atom and Pfel are part of Beat Torrent, while Greem and 20Syl form Hocus Pocus.
C2C gained significant recognition for their innovative approach to turntablism, blending traditional DJ techniques with intricate sampling, original compositions, and a strong emphasis on visual performance. They achieved widespread acclaim through numerous DJ championships, including four consecutive Disco Mix Club (DMC) World Team Championships from 2003 to 2006. These victories cemented their reputation for technical skill and creative artistry within the global DJ community.
After a period of relative inactivity following their championship run, C2C returned in 2012 with their debut album, Tetra. The album was a critical and commercial success, characterized by its genre-bending sound, incorporating elements of hip-hop, funk, soul, and electronic music. Tetra was particularly noted for its complex arrangements, innovative use of samples, and the integration of live instrumentation, showcasing a significant evolution from their earlier, more purely DJ-focused work.
C2C's live performances are a key element of their artistic identity, featuring synchronized visuals, intricate turntablism routines, and a high level of precision. They continue to tour internationally, showcasing their unique blend of music and visual artistry.
