Medical Arts Building (Portland, Oregon)

The Medical Arts Building is a historic medical office building located in downtown Portland, Oregon. Situated at 1020 SW Taylor Street, it is a prominent example of Art Deco architecture in the city. Constructed in 1927, the building was designed by architectural firm Houghtaling & Dougan for the Physicians and Surgeons Building Company.

The building's distinctive features include its stepped facade, elaborate terra cotta detailing, and stylized ornamentation. It originally housed a wide array of medical professionals, consolidating medical services in a central location. The building's proximity to major hospitals and transportation hubs made it a convenient and desirable address for doctors and dentists.
