USS Murray (SP-1438)

USS Murray (SP-1438) was a United States Navy patrol boat in commission from 1917 to 1919.

Murray was built as the private motorboat Murray by the Gas Engine and Power Company at Morris Heights, New York, in 1916. On 20 July 1917, the U.S. Navy acquired her from her owner, Walter H. Hanan of Brooklyn, New York, for use as a patrol boat during World War I. She was commissioned as USS Murray (SP-1438) on 25 July 1917.

Assigned to the 3rd Naval District, Murray performed patrol duties in the New York City area for the remainder of World War I.

Murray was decommissioned on 18 January 1919 and was sold on 11 June 1919 to Joseph Simpson of New York City.
