Terry Johnson (Georgia politician)
Terry Johnson is an American politician and veterinarian serving as a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate for District 24 since 2023. The district encompasses portions of Putnam, Baldwin, Greene, Jones, Morgan, and Jasper counties.
Prior to his election to the State Senate, Johnson served as the United States Representative for Georgia's 14th congressional district from 2021 to 2023. He defeated Democratic nominee Marjorie Taylor Greene in the 2020 general election, following the retirement of incumbent Tom Graves.
Johnson holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and operated a veterinary practice before entering politics. His legislative priorities have included agriculture, healthcare, and economic development within his district. He sits on several Senate committees, including Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Health and Human Services, and Economic Development and Tourism.
