Adlington railway station (Lancashire)
Adlington railway station (Lancashire) is a railway station serving the village of Adlington in Lancashire, England. It is located on the Chorley-Blackburn line, also known as the Ribble Valley line.
The station is operated by Northern Trains. Services are typically hourly in each direction between Bolton and Blackburn, with some services continuing to Clitheroe and occasionally beyond to Hellifield.
The station has two platforms. Platform 1 is for northbound services towards Blackburn and Clitheroe, while Platform 2 is for southbound services towards Bolton. Passenger facilities are basic, consisting of shelters, benches, and timetable information displays on each platform. There is step-free access to both platforms via ramps.
The station opened in 1848 as part of the Bolton, Blackburn, Clitheroe and West Yorkshire Railway. It was originally named simply "Adlington" and was renamed "Adlington (Lancashire)" to distinguish it from Adlington railway station in Cheshire.
The station is unstaffed, and tickets must be purchased on the train or in advance. There is a small car park available for passengers.
