Pat Thornton (rugby league)
Pat Thornton was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) during the 1930s and 1940s. He primarily played as a lock forward. Thornton played for the Eastern Suburbs club, achieving significant success with the team. He was a member of the Eastern Suburbs sides that won premierships in 1935, 1936, 1937, 1940 and also played in the losing grand final side in 1938. His career was largely defined by his association with this dominant Eastern Suburbs team of the era.
