Sid Phillips (musician)
Sid Phillips (1907 – 1973) was a British jazz clarinetist, bandleader, and arranger. He was a prominent figure in British dance band music from the 1930s through the 1960s.
Phillips began his career in the late 1920s and early 1930s, playing in various dance bands. By the mid-1930s, he had formed his own band, which gained popularity through radio broadcasts and recordings. His band was known for its lively arrangements and its ability to blend traditional jazz with popular dance music.
