Grover
Grover is a blue Muppet character on the long-running children's television program Sesame Street. He is known for his furry appearance, his excitable personality, and his tendency to speak in the third person.
Grover is one of the original Sesame Street characters, having been introduced in the show's first season in 1969. He is performed primarily by Frank Oz from 1969 to 2001, and then by Eric Jacobson from 2001 to present.
His character is often portrayed as clumsy but well-meaning, and he frequently finds himself in humorous and frustrating situations. A recurring bit features Grover as a waiter, known as "Super Grover," whose attempts to serve customers often lead to chaotic results. He is also known for his alter ego, "Super Grover 2.0," a superhero version of himself.
Grover's role on Sesame Street is primarily to teach children about emotions, problem-solving, and social skills. He often interacts with other Muppet characters, such as Elmo and Cookie Monster, providing opportunities for children to learn about friendship and cooperation. His appeal extends to both children and adults due to his endearing personality and comedic timing.
