CPR (band)

CPR was a rock band formed in 1997 consisting of David Crosby, Jeff Pevar, and James Raymond. The band's name was derived from the first initial of each member's last name.

David Crosby brought significant songwriting experience and his distinctive vocal harmonies to the group. Jeff Pevar, a seasoned guitarist, contributed instrumental expertise and co-writing skills. James Raymond, Crosby's son, provided keyboard work, songwriting, and arrangements, bridging Crosby's past musical styles with contemporary influences.

CPR explored a blend of rock, jazz, and folk influences. Their music featured complex arrangements, soaring vocal harmonies, and intricate instrumental interplay. The band released two studio albums, CPR (1998) and Just Like Gravity (2001), as well as a live album, Live at the Wiltern (1999).

CPR toured extensively, building a dedicated following with their dynamic live performances. While they were not a mainstream commercial success, CPR was critically acclaimed for its musicianship and songwriting. The band effectively showcased Crosby's continued artistic vitality and facilitated the development of Raymond as a significant musical force. The band dissolved in the mid-2000s as its members pursued individual projects and other collaborations.
