Bačalky
Bačalky is a village in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is located approximately 11 kilometers northeast of Nymburk and 50 kilometers east of Prague. Administratively, it belongs to the Nymburk District.
The village has a population of approximately 750 people (as of late 2023/early 2024; population figures may vary).
Historically, the area around Bačalky has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The first written mention of Bačalky dates back to the 14th century.
The local economy is primarily based on agriculture. Tourism is also becoming increasingly important, due to the village's proximity to several natural and historical attractions in the region.
