Sebuyau (state constituency)
Sebuyau is a state constituency in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly of Malaysia. It is located within the Batang Lupar parliamentary constituency.
The constituency was created in 1990 and is currently represented by Datuk Julaihi Bin Haji Narawi of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Sebuyau encompasses areas primarily within the Samarahan Division. The constituency is largely rural, with its population engaged in agriculture, fishing, and other related industries. Key areas within Sebuyau include the town of Sebuyau itself, and surrounding villages.
In previous elections, Sebuyau has been a stronghold for the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition and subsequently for the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) after BN's dissolution. The seat is considered significant due to its representation of a substantial rural population within Sarawak. The development and infrastructure improvements in the region are often key issues discussed during election campaigns.
