Bloodpit
Bloodpit was a Finnish gothic rock/alternative metal band formed in Helsinki in 1998. The band's lineup consisted of Matthau Mikojan (vocals), Pete Seppälä (guitar), Pyke Salmi (drums), and Aleksi Keränen (bass). Early members also included Antti Mäkinen (guitar) who left before the release of any major recordings.
Bloodpit's musical style incorporated elements of hard rock, gothic rock, and alternative metal, often characterized by catchy melodies and dark lyrical themes. The band gained recognition for their energetic live performances.
Bloodpit released three studio albums: Mental Circus (2005), Off the Hook (2007), and The Lost Societys (2009). Mental Circus was particularly successful in Finland, reaching the top of the Finnish album chart. The band toured extensively both in Finland and internationally, supporting bands such as HIM and Negative.
Bloodpit officially disbanded in 2013. Members pursued other musical projects and endeavors following the band's dissolution. While short-lived, their contributions to the Finnish gothic rock scene remain notable.
