Run for Your Life (TV series)

Run for Your Life was an American television drama series that aired on NBC from 1965 to 1968. The show starred Ben Gazzara as Paul Bryan, a lawyer who is diagnosed with a terminal illness – specifically, an incurable leukemia. Doctors give him approximately 18 months to live. Instead of succumbing to despair, Bryan chooses to live life to the fullest and embarks on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, determined to experience everything he can before his time runs out.

Each episode typically featured Bryan traveling to a new location and encountering different people, becoming involved in their lives and often facing danger or moral dilemmas. The premise allowed for a wide range of storylines, from romantic entanglements to espionage and mysteries.

The show was notable for its poignant and introspective tone, exploring themes of mortality, purpose, and the value of human connection. While the episodes often contained action and suspense, the core of the series was Bryan's personal journey and his attempts to make the most of his limited time.

Run for Your Life was created by Roy Huggins, who also served as executive producer. The series ran for three seasons, totaling 85 episodes. Despite its critical acclaim and Gazzara's Golden Globe Award nomination, the show faced stiff competition in its time slot and was eventually cancelled.
