David Gregory (journalist)

David Gregory (born October 24, 1970) is an American television journalist and political analyst. He is best known for having served as the moderator of NBC's Meet the Press from 2008 to 2014.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Gregory graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. He began his career in broadcast journalism at NBC News in 1995. He covered the White House for NBC News during the George W. Bush administration and was a regular panelist on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews. Gregory also served as a substitute anchor for NBC Nightly News and Today.

In December 2008, Gregory was named the moderator of Meet the Press, succeeding Tim Russert. His tenure as moderator was marked by declining ratings and criticism of his interviewing style. He left Meet the Press in August 2014.

Since leaving NBC News, Gregory has worked as a political analyst for CNN and has written a book, How's Your Faith?: An Unlikely Spiritual Journey. He has also lectured at various universities.
