Tom Daly (American politician)
Tom Daly (born October 10, 1954) is an American politician who currently serves as a California State Assemblymember representing the 69th Assembly District, which encompasses parts of Anaheim, Santa Ana, and surrounding areas in Orange County. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Early Life and Education:
Daly was born and raised in Anaheim, California. He attended local schools and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
Career:
Prior to his service in the State Assembly, Daly served as the Clerk-Recorder for Orange County from 2002 to 2012. Before that, he served as Mayor of Anaheim from 1992 to 2002. During his tenure as Mayor, Anaheim saw significant development, including the expansion of the Anaheim Convention Center and the construction of the Honda Center.
California State Assembly:
Daly was first elected to the California State Assembly in 2012. He has served on several committees, including the Appropriations Committee, the Banking and Finance Committee, and the Transportation Committee.
