Aaron (son of Ivan Vladislav)
Aaron, son of Ivan Vladislav, was a member of the Cometopuli dynasty who briefly contended for the throne of Bulgaria in 1015. Following the assassination of his father, Ivan Vladislav, while besieging Dyrrhachium, Aaron and his brother Presian were named by their father as his successors. However, their cousin, Ivan Vladislav's nephew Gavril Radomir, swiftly seized power, effectively bypassing them in the line of succession.
Facing a precarious situation, Aaron and Presian plotted against Gavril Radomir. However, the plot was uncovered, and Gavril Radomir executed Aaron along with his family, with the exception of Ivan Vladislav's other son, Alusian, who was taken into Byzantine captivity. Aaron's death solidified Gavril Radomir's hold on the Bulgarian throne, albeit briefly, before Gavril Radomir himself was assassinated later the same year. The surviving brother Presian outlived both cousins and later went on to become Emperor Presian II.
