Scott Moe
Scott Moe (born July 31, 1973) is a Canadian politician who has served as the 15th Premier of Saskatchewan since 2018. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the constituency of Rosthern-Shellbrook, first elected in 2011.
Moe was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. Prior to entering politics, he was a farmer and businessman. He studied agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan.
Moe became the leader of the Saskatchewan Party in 2018, succeeding Brad Wall. As Premier, his government has focused on economic growth, resource development, and managing the provincial budget. Key policy initiatives have included investments in infrastructure, tax cuts, and addressing the province's deficit. He has also been a prominent voice advocating for provincial autonomy within Canada, particularly regarding natural resource management.
Moe's political positions are generally considered to be centre-right. He has been a proponent of free enterprise and fiscal conservatism. He has navigated challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, resource price fluctuations, and national unity within Canada.
