John Morris (curler)

John Morris (born December 16, 1978) is a Canadian curler, known for his versatility as a player at multiple positions, including skip, third, and second. He is one of only two curlers to have won Olympic gold medals in both traditional team curling and mixed doubles curling.

Morris rose to prominence as a junior curler, winning the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 1997 and 1998. He skipped British Columbia to a silver medal at the 1998 World Junior Curling Championships.

In his men's career, Morris played third for Kevin Martin from 2006 to 2013. During this time, the team won the 2008 World Curling Championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. After leaving the Martin team, Morris skipped his own teams for several years, reaching the 2015 Brier final.

In 2017, Morris began focusing on mixed doubles curling, partnering with Kaitlyn Lawes. Together, they won the inaugural Olympic gold medal in mixed doubles curling at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He later partnered with Rachel Homan, winning the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in 2024.

Morris is known for his aggressive playing style, strong hitting ability, and passion for the sport. He is also an outspoken advocate for the growth and development of curling in Canada.
