Revolutionary Communist Party of India (Das)
The Revolutionary Communist Party of India (Das), often abbreviated RCPI (Das), is a communist political party in India. It is named after its founder, Soumyendranath Tagore, but the "Das" designation distinguishes it from other groups that also trace their lineage back to Tagore's original RCPI. The "Das" refers to Sudarshan Das, who led the party after a split.
The RCPI (Das) adheres to Marxist-Leninist ideology and advocates for a socialist revolution in India. It aims to overthrow the existing capitalist system and establish a workers' and peasants' state. The party's activities primarily focus on mobilizing workers, peasants, and other marginalized groups to fight for their rights and interests.
Historically, the RCPI (Das) has been involved in various labor and peasant movements. It participates in elections, although its electoral presence is typically limited to certain regions. The party's organizational structure is based on democratic centralism. It publishes literature and engages in political education to promote its ideology and agenda.
The RCPI (Das) views the Indian state as representing the interests of the bourgeoisie and landlords. It criticizes the government's economic policies, which it believes exacerbate inequality and exploitation. The party calls for land reforms, nationalization of key industries, and improved social welfare programs.
