Asgrow
Asgrow is a brand of agricultural seeds, particularly known for corn, soybean, and alfalfa seeds. Founded in 1856 as the Everett B. Clark Seed Company in Orange, Connecticut, it originally focused on garden seeds. The company expanded into field seeds and became Associated Seed Growers, Inc., later shortened to Asgrow.
Asgrow developed a reputation for innovation in seed breeding and development. It played a significant role in the advancement of hybrid corn and other crop varieties.
Over the years, Asgrow underwent several acquisitions. It was acquired by The Upjohn Company in 1968. Upjohn later merged with Pharmacia, and in 2000, Monsanto acquired Pharmacia's agricultural division, including Asgrow. Today, Asgrow is a brand owned by Bayer following Bayer's acquisition of Monsanto in 2018.
The Asgrow brand continues to be marketed to farmers, offering a range of seed products bred for yield, disease resistance, and other desirable traits. The brand is associated with a long history in the agricultural seed industry and ongoing research and development efforts.
