Fred Talbot (baseball)
Fred Talbot (born December 11, 1941) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He played professionally from 1965 to 1972.
Talbot pitched for the Chicago White Sox (1965-1968), Kansas City Royals (1969-1971), and Oakland Athletics (1972). He primarily served as a relief pitcher, though he also started a number of games throughout his career. His best season was in 1969 with the Royals, where he had a 10-4 record with a 3.22 ERA in 56 games. He was known for his curveball. He was part of the Oakland Athletics team that won the World Series in 1972, although he did not pitch in the World Series. After his baseball career, he became a high school teacher.
