Nesophila (gastropod)

Nesophila is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Achatinellidae. These snails are endemic to the Hawaiian Islands.

Nesophila snails are characterized by their small size and conical shells. The shells are often brightly colored and patterned, providing camouflage in their native habitat. They are found in a variety of habitats, including forests, shrublands, and grasslands.

The conservation status of many Nesophila species is of concern. Habitat loss due to agriculture, urbanization, and introduced species has significantly impacted their populations. Some species are listed as endangered or critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
