Craig Nicholls

Craig Nicholls (born 31 August 1977) is an Australian musician, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the garage rock band The Vines.

Nicholls formed The Vines in Sydney, Australia, in 1994, originally under the name "The Rishikesh." The band gained international recognition in the early 2000s with the release of their debut album Highly Evolved (2002), which spawned the hit singles "Get Free," "Highly Evolved," and "Outtathaway!"

Nicholls's musical style is characterized by his energetic stage presence, distinctive vocals (often compared to Kurt Cobain), and raw, distorted guitar riffs. He is the primary songwriter for The Vines, and his lyrics often explore themes of isolation, mental health, and youthful rebellion.

Nicholls has openly discussed his struggles with mental health, including being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. His experiences have often influenced his songwriting and performance style. While The Vines have experienced periods of inactivity, Nicholls continues to be the central figure of the band and has been involved in all of their studio albums.
