Verzegnis
Verzegnis is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine, in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 110 kilometers northwest of Trieste and about 45 kilometers northwest of Udine.
Verzegnis is situated in the Carnic Alps, specifically in the But valley. The economy is primarily based on agriculture, forestry, and tourism, particularly related to hiking and winter sports. The area is known for its natural beauty and mountainous landscapes.
Neighboring municipalities include Enemonzo, Preone, Raveo, Tolmezzo, Tramonti di Sopra, and Villa Santina. The population is approximately 850 (as of 2023). The patron saint of Verzegnis is Saint Martin.
