Penny Edwards (actress)
Penny Edwards (August 24, 1928 – August 26, 1998) was an American actress and dancer, primarily known for her roles in B-Westerns and musical films of the 1940s and 1950s. Born in Jackson Heights, New York, as Millicent Edwards, she began her career as a child performer, working as a model and dancer.
Edwards gained prominence as a "sweater girl" pin-up and then transitioned into film work. She appeared in numerous Westerns, often co-starring with actors like Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and Gene Autry. Her roles frequently involved singing and dancing, showcasing her versatile talents.
Some of her notable film appearances include That's My Gal (1947), The Gay Ranchero (1948), Sunset in the West (1950), and Street Bandits (1951). She also appeared in television shows like The Gene Autry Show.
Following her Hollywood career, Edwards transitioned into real estate. She passed away in 1998, shortly after her 70th birthday, in North Hollywood, California.
