John York

John York is the owner and co-chairman of the San Francisco 49ers, a National Football League (NFL) team. He assumed ownership alongside his wife, Denise DeBartolo York, following family restructuring of the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation assets.

York is a physician, specializing in pathology. He received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Prior to his involvement with the 49ers, he practiced medicine.

His involvement in the 49ers organization has been characterized by periods of both success and criticism. While the team has achieved Super Bowl appearances under his ownership, he has also faced scrutiny regarding team performance and management decisions.
