Flight Plan (film)
Flightplan is a 2005 American mystery thriller film directed by Robert Schwentke. It stars Jodie Foster as Kyle Pratt, an American aircraft engineer who is flying from Berlin to New York City with her six-year-old daughter, Julia. During the flight, Kyle falls asleep, and when she awakens, Julia is missing.
Panicked, Kyle searches the plane, but neither Julia nor any evidence of her being on board can be found. The crew and passengers, including the air marshal, begin to doubt Kyle's sanity, suggesting that Julia died in Berlin before the flight and that Kyle is suffering from a delusion brought on by grief. They point to the flight manifest, which lacks Julia's name, and claim that no one saw Julia board the plane.
Despite the growing skepticism and mounting evidence against her, Kyle refuses to believe she is imagining things and remains convinced that Julia is on the plane. She uses her knowledge of the plane's design to search for her daughter, leading to suspicion and increasingly drastic measures from the crew, who come to believe she is a threat. The film follows Kyle as she attempts to prove her sanity, find her daughter, and uncover a possible conspiracy on board the aircraft. The plot unfolds amidst the claustrophobic setting of the airplane, building tension and paranoia as Kyle races against time to find Julia before the plane lands.
