Andrew Jones (British politician)

Andrew Jones (born 29 November 1963) is a British Conservative Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Harrogate and Knaresborough since 2010.

Prior to entering Parliament, Jones worked in business, holding roles at the supermarket chain Asda and as a consultant. He was a local councillor for the Pannal ward on Harrogate Borough Council from 2003 to 2011.

In Parliament, Jones has held several positions. He served as Assistant Whip from 2015 to 2017, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury from 2017 to 2018, and as a Transport Minister from 2018 to 2019 and again from 2022 to 2023. He has also served on select committees. His political interests often focus on transport infrastructure, the economy, and local issues within his constituency.
