Dunsford

Dunsford is a village and civil parish in the Teignbridge district of Devon, England. It is situated within Dartmoor National Park, on the eastern edge of the moor, approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Exeter.

Dunsford is located on the River Teign, which flows through a steep-sided valley. The landscape is characterised by farmland, woodland, and moorland. The village lies at an elevation of approximately 100 meters above sea level.

History:

Evidence suggests Dunsford has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The Domesday Book of 1086 records the village as Duntesford. Historically, the village was an agricultural community, but industries such as quarrying and milling also played a role.
