Joe West (footballer)

Joe West is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

West was drafted by Fremantle with pick 39 in the 2003 AFL Draft from the Swan Districts Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He made his AFL debut in Round 2, 2004 against Melbourne. West played primarily as a small defender, known for his tackling pressure and willingness to contest.

During his time at Fremantle, West played 63 games between 2004 and 2009. He was known as a reliable team player but struggled to consistently hold his place in the senior side. After the 2009 season, West was delisted by Fremantle.

Following his delisting, West returned to the WAFL, playing for Swan Districts. He continued to play consistent football at the state league level for several years, contributing to Swan Districts' success.
